About us
Why Baiboka and how it all began?
It all started when Indre graduated from university in the UK after studying Fashion Buying & Marketing. Just like you, she searched the wide web for unique apparel that’s comfortable and fun to wear, yet she struggled to find original brands that are not targeting the masses. At the beginning of 2022, Indre called her sister Gabriele feeling inspired by her new hand-drawn designs:
“What if we could create cool apparel that’s exciting and practical to wear?”
After spending over a year of analysing the fashion market, searching for the best materials, and looking for small businesses to collaborate, the sisters with the help of the family decided to turn their ideas into a reality.
The meaning behind Baiboka
Indre loved art ever since she could hold a pencil in her palm. She always enjoyed portraying people, yet she could never draw their faces. So, they never had one. And only when she grew older, she realised why.
“I was a perfectionist and I wanted everything to be perfect. But nothing in life is and neither are people!”.
As soon as she realised it, her creative block was lifted and she started drawing “Baibokai” – perfectly imperfect little creatures. In Lithuanian language Baibokai mean naughty children, so we thought that it was the perfect fit. Our designs encourage people to embrace their authenticity, take life less seriously and just have fun.
